Protect Our Earth, Protect Our Children Campaign
PROTEC 1.0: 2020-2025 by the ECCJ-MSB for all Catholic Dioceses in Malaysia.
Each PROTEC year starts on 1 September and runs to 31 August of the following year.
The “Protect Our Earth, Protect Our Children (PROTEC)” Campaign was launched on 1 September 2020 Malaysia-wide by the Episcopal Commission for Creation Justice. PROTEC 1.0 was expressly sanctioned by the Catholic Bishops of Malaysia who called on all the faithful in all Malaysian dioceses to implement this life-giving campaign with full zeal, perseverance and prayer.
PROTEC runs for five years with a different theme each year. Each PROTEC year lasts from 1 September to 31 August. Each new PROTEC launch coincides with the Season of Creation (SoC) that year. The SoC lasts from 1 September (World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation instituted by Pope Francis) to 4 October (Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi) every year. PROTEC is the first campaign of its kind in the Malaysian Catholic Church.
PROTEC 1.0 was from 2020-2025.
