REGENERATE! CAMPAIGN (PROTEC 2.0)
REGENERATE! (PROTEC 2.0): 2025-2030 by the ECCJ-MSB for all Catholic Dioceses in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.
Each PROTEC year starts on 1 September and runs to 31 August of the following year.
Riding on the success and popularity of the first Protect Our Earth, Protect Our Children (PROTEC 1.0) Campaign (2020-2025), PROTEC 2.0 is our new campaign called REGENERATE! REGENERATE! has been approved by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei to run in the three countries.
REGENERATE! will last for five years from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2030 with a different theme each year. Year 1 began on 1 September 2025 and will run up to 31 August 2026 with the theme: “Regenerate Hope for Flora and Fauna”. Plant and animal biodiversity are life to this planet.

REGENERATE! YEAR 2
We are pleased to announce the launch of the second year of the
REGENERATE! (PROTEC 2.0) Campaign. Bishop Joseph Hii, President of the Episcopal Commission for Creation Justice of Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei, has issued a
letter urging all dioceses to celebrate REGENERATE! (PROTEC 2.0) Year 2, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on 1 September, and the
Season of Creation 2026.
The theme for the REGENERATE! (PROTEC 2.0) CAMPAIGN YEAR 2
(1 Sept 2026 – 31 Aug 2027) is: REGENERATE HOPE FOR LAND ECOSYSTEMS.
Land ecosystems include natural terrestrial ecosystems like forests, grasslands, deserts, peatlands, wetlands (including mangroves) as well as urban and rural settlement areas which are unique ecosystems. All of these ecosystems are under threat directly and indirectly from human activity (deforestation, maldevelopment, mining, pollution, over-exploitation and climate change impacts like droughts, heat waves, floods, and typhoons.)
